How To Remove Burn Marks From Stainless Steel Kettle

2025-08-08

Burn marks on Stainless Steel Kettles are a common issue caused by overheated water, tea, coffee, or residue from repeated use. While they may appear stubborn, there are safe and effective methods to restore the kettle’s surface.

Experts recommend using natural acidic solutions like white vinegar or lemon. For the interior, fill the kettle with equal parts water and vinegar or add lemon slices, bring to a gentle boil, then let it sit for 15–30 minutes. After cooling, scrub gently with a soft brush or non-abrasive sponge to lift the burn marks. For stubborn stains, adding a teaspoon of baking soda can provide mild abrasiveness without scratching the metal.

For exterior burn marks, apply a paste of baking soda and water directly to the affected areas. Leave it for a few minutes, then gently scrub with a soft cloth or sponge. Wipe clean with a damp cloth and dry thoroughly with a microfiber towel to restore shine. Avoid using steel wool or harsh chemicals, which can damage the stainless steel surface.

Market analysts note that as home tea and coffee culture grows, consumers increasingly seek kettles that are easy to maintain and clean. Effective removal of burn marks not only preserves aesthetics but also prolongs the kettle’s durability, making proper cleaning practices essential for everyday use.
